First off, expect to be a little nervous.

It’s okay. Everyone is! The nerves will wear down after about ten minutes or so of shooting once you get used to my silly style. Here a few things that happen at mostly EVERY session:

You’ll forget something at home.

It’s okay… as long as you don’t live far, we can improvise until a buddy goes to pick it up for you. If not, we’ll still improvise and make beautiful stuff happen anyway!

You’ll get to see some of the portraits

We want to be sure you’re happy with the way you look. There’s nothing worse than seeing your photos after the fact and deciding you actually hate what you looked like because of a t-shirt not fitting right, or your shoes not looking as cute as you hoped! These are all things that we can fix during a session, so I love turning the camera around to let you see these details!

You might feel like the whole world is looking at you

That’s because they will. You look amazing and people LOVE to witness portraits happen behind the scenes. So, rock your most confident smile and own the moment. Having a live audience in public isn’t something we can prevent, but we can control how this will play out. Smile and wave and we handle the rest!

We’ll move around a lot!

In order to get the most out of your session, we will use anything we can for a different background at one location. This allows us to get a good variety of photos without having to waste time driving to another location!

I’ll probably say or do something to embarrass myself.

It’s inevitable. I’m a dork and do crazy stuff sometimes. I laugh at myself all the time and love when I can make friends who don’t take me too serious!

Most of all, expect to have a good time.

We wont force a pose too much we love for you to be yourself and like to laugh a lot!

So you took the leap and booked your consultation… what do you do now?

Sit back and relax because that was the hardest part!

We really do what we can to take the stress off of your senior session day because lets be honest, Senior Year is stressful enough as it is. Plus, we’ve been doing this for a long time, and know a little about how to make sure you are comfortable and know what to expect on photo day. So here’s a list of things to think about before we meet up for your consultation:

What are you into right now: Examples:

  •                 Do you play sports?

  •                 In the band?

  •                 Love music?

  •                 Play an instrument?

  •                 Do you hunt/fish?

  •                 Do you spend most of your off time with friends?

  •                 Do you stay home and read after school?

What is your style?

  •                 Are you a jeans & t-shirt kinda person, or get a little more dressy?

  •                 Do you have a “country” style?

  •                 Into a more “urban” look?

  •                 Into the latest styles?

  •                 Do you really not care about fashion at all?

  •                 Do you love experimenting with makeup or do you enjoy a natural look?

Do you have pets?

  •                 Ever considered including your pet in your portraits?

When I was a kid, my grandma used to give me necklaces. I wish today that I could have been photographed with some of them on. Do you have anything of significance in your life that you would like to include in a photograph?

These are a few things we’ll go over at your consultation to give us a better idea of how to make your session as unique to your style as possible! All of these questions are really meant for you to think about details without stressing over them, leave the stress to us, it’s our job!

So, no worries! We got this! We’ll see ya at your consultation future Grad!
